ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Central Washington University and its partner Virtual Education Software, Inc. (VESi), have agreed to make the WEST-B Test Preparation Course on CD-ROM available at the new low price of $35, sixty dollars below its original selling price. WEST-B stands for Washington Educator Skills Test - Basic. It is the basic skills test used throughout the state of Washington. All individuals applying for admission to state-approved teacher preparation programs, as well as teachers from other states applying for a Washington residency teaching certificate, are required to meet the minimum passing score on this basic skills exam. The WEST-B Test Prep CD is an affordable, CD-ROM based course that individuals use to prepare themselves for this exam. Offered cooperatively by Central Washington University and Virtual Education Software, this interactive course is designed to help individuals achieve a better understanding of the content and context of the state’s basic skills examination. The course thoroughly reviews the core information in each subject area tested in the state exam, with added emphasis on test-taking strategies and test-taking time management. This complete basic skills prep course has video, study materials, and special handouts to focus learning on essential content in math, written language, reading comprehension and essay writing.
