| Masters of Science for Biomedical Science Specialization | |
|
Central Washington University offers a Master of Science in Biology degree with a specialization in Biomedical Science. This program is a professional course of study designed to help students become stronger applicants to medical schools, and specifically to the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program. Students who have already completed their course requirements for admission to the PNWU program can strengthen their candidacy by demonstrating their performance in some of the courses taken by first-year medical students at PNWU and broadening their background as scientists by conducting an original research project with faculty at CWU while earning a Master of Science degree in Biology. Aside from having the potential to obtain preferred enrollment status at PNWU, students are also better prepared to pursue advanced degrees in other professional programs or careers in the pharmaceutical, health care, and biotechnology industries. |
CurriculumThe program of study includes coursework research methods, current topics in biology, gross and developmental anatomy, medical physiology, and cellular science along with graduate research. |
