| Student Responsibilties |
Financial ObligationsAdmission to or registration with Central Washington University, conferring of degrees, and issuance of academic transcripts may be withheld for failure to meet financial obligations to the university. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that his or her account is kept current. Unless otherwise indicated by the student, payments received from students will be applied in the following priority:
Registration, online via the Web or in person, obligates a student for payment of all tuition and course fees. If tuition is not paid by the due date, students will be assessed a late fee and will be liable for any other reasonable collection costs. Interest will incur on past due accounts at 1 percent per month. Students may check with the Cashiers Office (509-963-2224) to obtain the exact amount of tuition and fees due. Do not wait for a statement of account. Students may access their statement on the Student Financials, Admissions, Financial Aid, Academic Progress and Records Information System (Safari) located within the Wildcat Connection. |
Address InformationStudent address information is very important! Addresses can be changed on Safari in the Self Service Center by navigating on Safari to Self Service > Campus Personal Information area or in person at Registrar Services. Important materials are mailed periodically to all students throughout the summer session. |
E-mail Official NotificationRegistrar Services, Financial Aid, and other student services use e-mail to notify students of important notices. It is imperative that students check their CWU e-mail accounts throughout summer session. For information on activating a student CWU e-mail account, go here. |
Schedule ConfirmationA student may register online utilizing Safari. By navigating to Safari and selecting Learner Services > Academics > View My Class Schedule, a student can obtain a listing of his or her class schedule. Students should check their schedule carefully for discrepancies. Students are responsible for ensuring that the courses they select will fulfill degree requirements. Students may be prevented from registering for courses without the necessary corequisites or prerequisites and may ultimately be dropped from the course. Students should review enrollment requirements in the online catalog here. |
Drop by InstructorThe instructor may drop a student from a class if the student fails to attend the class by 5 p.m. on the third day of summer session instruction or the equivalent. Students should not assume they will automatically be dropped from a class they do not attend. Students should drop their classes online or with Registrar Services prior to the end of the change of schedule period. NON-ATTENDANCE DOES NOT RELIEVE STUDENTS OF THEIR ACADEMIC AND FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS. Central Washington University's policies and practices affirm and actively promote the rights of all individuals to equal opportunity in education without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, age, marital status, disability or status as protected veterans. The person responsible for institutional compliance with various federal and state laws and institutional policies dealing with discrimination is Staci Sleigh-Layman, Director of OEO, Barge Hall 221, 509-963-2205, or TDD 509-963-2143.
