UNIVERSITY CENTERSCentral Washington University has six university centers in addition to the residential campus in Ellensburg. The university centers offer upper division (300-400 level) courses in selected degree areas and are designed for students who have completed their Direct Transfer Agreement (DTA) associate degrees or most of the CWU General Education Requirements. The centers primarily offer evening classes to accommodate students who work during the day. Day classes/programs are offered at some locations. Prior to applying, contact the CWU center that you wish to attend and review the various pre-admission requirements. Apply online and send all official transcripts to that specific university center. Visit the university centers' Web site. University Center PoliciesAdmissionStudents interested in entering a university center program may submit their applications online. Transcripts and other paperwork should be submitted directly to the specific university center office. RegistrationContinuing students should follow the same procedures as noted in the registration part of this handbook. Be sure to study the procedures for SAFARI. Students not admitted to a center program must register in person during open enrollment. Nonprogram students may register for classes on a space-available basis. AdvisingGeneral transfer advising and specific program advising is available by contacting your university center for an appointment. Official transcript evaluation is also available upon admission to the university. Listed tuition and fees are subject to modification by the state or by CWU's board of trustees. All students must pay a mandatory $25 technology fee. The fee is pro-rated up to 10 credits. Students in courses requiring a computer must pay the full fee amount. Students must pay a service and activities fee of $9.46 per credit up to 12 credits. Financial AidStudents attending a university center are eligible to apply for financial aid. You can apply online, or pick up an application at any university center.
